Apiculture in the town of Irkay

The aim of the project was to promote the knowledge and practice of beekeeping in the region of Irkay in southern Lebanon and surrounding villages. The realization of a theoretical-practical course was foreseen on beekeeping, aimed at 20 young people and women, which includes theoretical and practical sessions, with the aim of providing participants the knowledge and skills necessary to start a production activity of quality honey and other bee products. The project also promoted the implementation of one mission in Sardinia by representatives of local administrations and private entrepreneurs of the Lebanese region affected by the project. The 4-day mission allowed the exchange of good practices and knowledge in the specific sector of beekeeping between the two regions.
